Stakes Winner Silky Sweep Gets First Winner

Stakes winner Silky Sweep came up with his first winner when his son, Sweeping Silk, won June 17 at Calder Race Course as a homebred for Roger and Nikki Schick. The Florida-bred colt, the first foal from the winning Birdonthewire mare Whisper of Silk, ran the 4 1/2 furlongs in :54.38 to win by 4 3/4 lengths.
