A memorial service for 76-year-old trainer Tom Knight, who died in a traffic accident June 15, will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Golden Gate Fields in the Top Of The Stretch room.

Knight, a native of Wagon Mound, N.M., trained horses in the Bay Area since 1975. His top Thoroughbred was Today A Star, a multiple stakes-winning sprinter. The veteran trainer also conditioned Appaloosas and won the 1978 Pomona Futurity with Drum and Fife and the 1987 California Appaloosa Derby with Quadraporte.

The family asks that donations in memory of Tom Knight be made to The Winners' Foundation, which can be contacted at (626) 574-6498.
