Gin Talking, Maryland Horse of the Year and champion 3-year-old filly of 2000, has been retired from racing because of ankle problems and is booked to Dixieland Band. Owned by Skeedattle Associates, the 4-year-old filly ran second in the March 10 Snow Goose Handicap at Laurel in her final start.

Gin Talking won her final three starts of 2000: the Anne Arundel Stakes (gr. III), Broad Brush Stakes, and Maryland Million Oaks. The previous year, she was Maryland's champion 2-year-old filly and a three-time stakes winner. Bred by Barbara C. Graham, Gin Talking (Allen's Prospect--Chattin, by Rollicking) was retired with seven wins from 11 starts and earnings of $348,206.
