Bernstein, Grand Reward to Shuttle to Argentina
Central Kentucky stallions Bernstein and Grand Reward, both sons of Storm Cat, will shuttle to Argentina. Nine-year-old Bernstein, who has shuttled there several years and quickly developed into a prominent sire, will stand at Haras La Biznaga. He is based at Dr. Tony Ryan's Castleton Lyons near Lexington and currently is standing for $25,000. Grand Reward, who entered stud this year for $12,500 at John Sikura's Hill 'n' Dale Farms near Lexington, will shuttle to Haras La Quebrada.Bernstein, who is out of the Affirmed mare La Affirmed, is represented by such Argentina group I winners as Storm Mayor and Stormy Nimble. The former won the 2005 Carlos Pellegrini (Arg-I). Stormy Nimble is a group I winner this year. Worldwide, Bernstein has sired 16 stakes winners.Grand Reward, who is out of champion Serena's Song (by Rahy), won or placed in seven stakes in North America, England, and Ireland, and earned $545,844. His big win came in last year's Oaklawn Handicap (gr. II).
