Owens Hired as RMTC Communications Coordinator

The Racing Medication and Testing Consortium (RMTC) announced Tuesday the appointment of Amy Owens to communications coordinator.

In her new position, Owens will be responsible for promoting media coverage of the RMTC programs and enhancing communications between the organization and its industry-wide board of directors and advisers.

A resident of Lexington, Owens last served as managing editor of Thoroughbred Times, where she was responsible for the publication's weekly production.

Owens previously spent 10 years with the American Quarter Horse Association of Amarillo, Texas, where she was director of racing communications and marketing and later editor of The Quarter Racing Journal. Prior to that, she was a staff writer for The Blood-Horse. Owens has a journalism degree from the University of Missouri.
