The American Academy of Equine Art (AAEA), founded in 1980, and headquartered at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington, plans to have their new building up and running by September to provide additional space and opportunities.
"We are constructing a new educational center and library, which will be the administrative headquarters for our group, as well as house educational workshops, artist-in-residence and future children's programs, student and member art shows, and many other exciting events," said JoAnne Farley, New Jersey equine artist and publicity director for the national organization.
"It will also be the home for the extensive library of equine art related books, making these outstanding reference materials available to artists and the general public," she added.
Currently sharing a building with another organization, the AAEA hopes to expand their educational possibilities once the new building is completed.
The organization has created seven tiers of tax-deductible donation opportunities for the new facility, ranging from $30 to $10,000 a year. There is also an option of purchasing engraved bricks for the outer sidewalk for $100 each.
