A P Valentine, worked between races at Hialeah on Tuesday in preparation for the Flamingo Stakes.
A P Valentine, who will use the April 7 Flamingo Stakes as a stop on his road to the May 5 Kentucky Derby, worked five furlongs in :59.20 in between the third and fourth races Tuesday afternoon at Hialeah Park.
Regular exercise rider Jamie Sanders rode the A. P. Indy colt as he worked in company with Tokyo Gold, with jockey Eibar Coa aboard.
A P Valentine, who won the last year's Champagne Stakes at Belmont Park and then was defeated as the favorite in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile at Churchill Downs, was scheduled to work Monday morning, but a sloppy track change that plan, assistant trainer Frank Allen said.
Allen said trainer Nick Zito wanted A P Valentine to work "under race conditions."
