Australian sire Redoute's Choice has had his 2006 fee raised to A$275,000 (approximately $209,000) at John Messara's Arrowfield Stud near Scone in New South Wales. Already this year, he has covered 12 mares sent from the Northern Hemisphere.
His fee is a new record price for an Australian stallion and a sizable increase on his A$220,000 fee of 2005. Redoute's Choice (Danehill--Shantha's Choice, by Canny Lad) currently is leading the 2005-06 Australian general sires table and seems certain to win his first title with just three crops on the track. He also figures to win the 2-year-old crown again for the third time in a row.
Arrowfield will also stand Hussonet, who will have his 2006 service fee increased to A$38,500 ($29,000). Hussonet (Mr. Prospector--Sacahuista, by Raja Baba) stood for $24,750 in 2005.
The farm, on a massive high right now, will introduce Starcraft (Soviet Star--Flying Floozie, by Pompeii Court) to stud and will stand him for $33,000.
