Lael Stables' Showing Up breezed a half-mile in :49 3/5 at Belmont Park Monday as the son of Strategic Mission remained on track for Saturday's Kentucky Derby presented by Yum! Brands (gr. I).
While the work was a little slower he would have preferred, trainer Barclay Tagg was satisfied with the effort.
"It was a little slower than I wanted him to go, but we just wanted him to stretch his legs," Tagg said. "Everything is on go, as long as everything goes well. I'd like to see how he comes out of the workout tomorrow and gallop him on Wednesday before we enter him."
Tagg, who saddled Funny Cide to win the 2003 Derby, is continuing to monitor a puncture wound in the right front leg sustained during his victory in the Lexington Stakes (gr. II) at Keeneland.
