Balance, Last Romance, and Wonder Lady Anne L Headed for Churchill Downs

The Kentucky Oaks (gr. I) field is beginning to take shape with leading contender Balance scheduled to ship from Southern California to Kentucky April 29.

Trainer David Hofmans galloped the daughter of Thunder Gulch 1 1/8 miles at Hollywood Park April 24. She will return to the track April 28 before shipping to Churchill Downs the following day.

Jockey Victor Espinoza has the mount in the Oaks.

Owned by Amerman Racing Stable, Balance won the Las Virgenes (gr. I) and Santa Anita Oaks (gr. I) before shipping to Keeneland where she finished third in the Ashland Stakes (gr. I).

Trainer Richard Dutrow has confirmed shipping plans for his two Oaks hopefuls, Last Romance and Wonder Lady Anne L.

The trainer said Last Romance would leave from New York April 27, and Wonder Lady Anne L would breeze over the Palm Meadows training surface April 25 before shipping to Louisville April 26.

The riding assignment has not been confirmed for Last Romance (Wild Rush-Last Romance, by Fappiano), who is owned by Sanford Goldfarb, Michael Dubb, and a Bunch of Characters Stable.

Edgar Prado will ride Demoisell (gr. II) winner Wonder Lady Anne L (Real Quiet- Ancho, by Wild Zone), who is owned by IEAH Stables, Joe Plumeri, Sanford Robbins and Orchard Kids.
