The same Wild Zone colt that zipped the fastest eighth-mile at the Ocala Breeders' Sales video preview on Sunday took top honors again on Saturday for his :21 3/5 quarter-mile at the first session of the Under Tack Show of the company's March sale of selected 2-year-olds.
The colt (Hip No. 6), out of the Crafty Prospector mare Gloria's Pleasure, worked an eighth-mile in :10 1/5 last Sunday.
Others with impressive quarter-mile works were a Distinctive Pro colt out of Island Lake, by Meadowlake, and a Polish Numbers colt out of Red Rain, by Secreto. Both -- Hip No.'s 34 and 148, respectively -- stopped the timer in :21 4/5 and are consigned by Eisaman Equine.
The quickest three-furlong breeze was put in by Hip No. 159. The colt, Safe Expectation (Valid Expectations -- Safe Shelter, by Shelter Half), completed the distance in :34 3/5.
A half-brother to stakes winners Ms. Deep Pockets and Square Up The Bet put in the fastest eight-mile work of the day. The colt by Montbrook and out of On the Square, by In Reality, stopped the timer in :10 2/5.
The under tack show will resume on Sunday at 10 a.m. The sale is slated for Tuesday and Wednesday. (More,
