Robert Flynn Resigns From NYRA Board

Robert F. Flynn announced his resignation from the New York Racing Association's Board of Trustees April 7, citing his responsibilities as executive director of the New York Thoroughbred Horsemen's Association.

"With all of the issues facing the horsemen, I am needed at my job," Flynn explained. "There is nothing negative about my resignation. My job is working for the NYTHA and I just felt I had an obligation to my job."

Flynn joined the NYRA board in December 2004. He worked for the NYRA for 18 years -- his last six years as assistant racing secretary -- before joining the New York Horsemen's and Benevolent Association, the forerunner of the NYTHA, as its executive director in 1994.
