Prominent sire
Kingmambo, who was sidelined through part of the 2005 breeding season, continues to show improvement. Ten mares have been scanned in foal, which puts his fertility percentage above the farm's average. He began the season covering one mare per day, but his veterinarians have recently agreed that two or three additional covers per week may be added to his schedule.
Kingmambo's overall health has been carefully monitored and his therapies have included various medications, acupuncture, chiropractic work, and regular exercise.
Sixteen-year-old Kingmambo (Mr. Prospector--Miesque, by Nureyev) is the sire of 58 stakes winners. He enjoyed one of his best years in 2005, with seven graded or group winners. He stands for $300,000 at William S. Farish's Lane's End Farm near Versailles, Ky.
