Newsells Park Stud announced Tuesday that Julian Dollar will succeed Robert Acton as general manager of the operation following Acton's retirement in June.

Dollar returns to England from the U.S., where he managed Castleton Lyons Farm near Lexington the last two years. Previously, he was assistant manager to Chris Richardson at Cheveley Park Stud near Newmarket, England.

Dollar studied history at Reading University and spent five years as a professional event rider prior to entering the Thoroughbred industry.

"Robert and I have been able to select a wonderful band of broodmares, and, even more importantly, have established a great team of 30 people dedicated to breeding the best," said Newsells chairman Klaus Jacobs of Acton. "For the next stage of Newsells Park Stud's development, we need an internationally experienced horseman and recognized world-class stud manager who will also bridge the generations within my family. I welcome Julian Dollar, his wife Georgia, and their three children very warmly to Newsells Park Stud."
