Horse of the Year Azeri in Foal to A.P. Indy

Four-time champion Azeri, who came up barren last year in her first season as a broodmare, is in foal to A.P. Indy. The leading sire in 2003, A.P. Indy stands at William S. Farish's Lane's End Farm near Versailles, Ky.

Owned by Michael Paulson and bred by his late father, Allen Paulson, Azeri was voted Horse of the Year and champion older female the year she won the 2002 Breeders' Cup Distaff (gr. I) for the Allen Paulson Living Trust. She repeated as champion older female the next two years. Retired prior to the 2005 breeding season, she came up barren to Storm Cat.

Eight-year-old Azeri is by Mr. Prospector's son, Jade Hunter, out of the Ahonoora mare Zodiac Miss. Matings of A.P. Indy to Mr. Prospector mares have proved highly successful, resulting in such good ones as Horse of the Year Mineshaft  , champion Tempera, grade I winner Tomisue's Delight, and grade II winners Congrats, Daydreaming, and Pulpit  .
