Grade I Winner Dream of Summer Retired

Dream of Summer, a grade I winner and millionaire for breeder/owner James Weigel, has been retired from racing, according to
Daily Racing Form.
Dream of Summer scored her big win in last year's Apple Blossom Handicap (gr. I) at Oaklawn Park over an all star lineup that include Ashado, Island Sand, Island Fashion, Shadow Cast, and Star Parade. Overall, the California-bred daughter of Siberian Summer out of the Skywalker mare Mary's Dream won five other stakes--A Gleam Invitational (gr. II), Rancho Bernardo (gr. III), and Gardenia (gr. III) Handicaps and the last two runnings of the California Cup Matron Handicap.
Trained by Juan J. Garcia, Dream of Summer retired with 10 wins from 20 starts and earnings of $1,191,150. She ran second in the March 11 Santa Margarita Invitational Handicap (gr. I) for the second consecutive year in what was her final start.
Breeding plans are undecided.
