All four horses owned by Paraneck Stable and trained by Frank Amonte Jr. were scratched off the Saturday card at Aqueduct, and all of their runners will be scratched Sunday as well.
Daily Racing Form reported on Sunday that the 47-year-old Amonte had tested positive for Vicodin, a painkiller for which he did not have a prescription. Amonte told the publication that he had been suspended for 15 days.
Citing the situation as a legal matter, the stewards declined to comment on why Amonte's runners were withdrawn.
Amonte has been the stable's private trainer for less than a month after taking over for Jennifer Pedersen, who left in a dispute with owner Ernie Paragallo.
Entries for Wednesday's Aqueduct races were drawn without any Paraneck horses.
