King's Best Injured in Irish Derby

Sagitta Two Thousand Guineas (Eng-I) winner King's Best underwent surgery on a fractured cannon bone the Kingmambo colt sustained in Sunday's Budweiser Irish Derby (Ire-I), The Sporting Life reports.
"Regarding his future, we don't know anything at the moment--nothing has been decided. Hopefully it's nothing life-threatening but the next 48 hours are crucial." Joe Mercer, racing manager for owner Saeed Suhail told The Sporting Life.
King's Best, the early betting favorite for the Vodafone Epsom Derby (Eng-I), was scratched from the English classic after a recurrent muscle injury flared up during training in the week prior to the race. (More,
