A half-sister to champion Afleet Alex was born March 10 at Jess Jackson's Stonestreet Farm near Lexington. Bred by Stonestreet Thoroughbred Holdings, the filly is by
Awesome Again out of Maggy Hawk.
Jackson not only owns Maggy Hawk, whom he privately bought in 2004, but also owns an interest in Awesome Again and Afleet Alex. Awesome Again stands at Frank Stronach's Adena Springs Kentucky near Midway.
Afleet Alex won the 2005 Preakness (gr. I) and Belmont (gr. I) Stakes and ran third in the Kentucky Derby (gr. I) for Cash is King Stable. He stands at Gainesway Farm (Antony Beck, president) near Lexington.
Maggy Hawk, who also is the dam of stakes winner Unforgettable Max, is booked to
Storm Cat.
