Arlington Park has extended its deadline to March 24 in a nationwide talent search for a female to replace Christine Gabriel and serve as co-host with Arlington announcer John Dooley and other horse racing experts for the track's on-site and simulcast television program.
The position is open to women at all levels of experience and knowledge about horseracing. It runs throughout the Arlington racing season, which begins May 5.
The live show airs at Arlington Park and at off-track betting facilities throughout the world for five hours each racing day.
Applicants are asked to send a 3-to-5 minute tape to Arlington Park detailing why they would make a great host. Please send a VHS tape and resume by 5 p.m. on March 24. Entries should be mailed to: Susie Gura, Serafin & Associates, 409 W. Huron St., Suite 600, Chicago, IL 60610.
Creativity, style, and vocal performance will be evaluated to select applicants for a final interview round. Finalists will be announced on March 27. The new host will be selected in early April. Complete rules, application, and talent search information are at the Arlington Park Web site.
