Mills New President of Florida HBPA

Linda Mills has been elected president of the Florida Horsemen's Benevolent and Protective Association. She replaces Richard Root, who served as interim president when Scott Savin was named president of Gulfstream Park.
In a statement, Mills said she plans to work toward "the betterment of racing in Florida."
Bill White will be vice president of the Florida HBPA, Kathleen O'Connell secretary, and Jack Hammer treasurer. Elected to the board for three-year terms are owners Hammer and Sam Gordon, and trainers Harry Benson, Shawn Musgrave, and White. Alternates are Root, Solomon Garazi, and Randy Mills.
