A Swiss Yodeler colt and fillies by Salt Lake
and Gibson County were among the standouts Monday during the second and final under tack show prior to Tuesday's Barretts March select sale of 2-year-olds in training. They were the fastest workers at an eighth of a mile, each covering the distance in :10 1/5 at Fairplex Park in Southern California.
Out of the 11-year-old winning Nostalgia's Star mare Queenie Z, the Swiss Yodeler colt is a full brother to stakes-placed Marie's Rose. B.C.3. Thoroughbreds, agent for P.V. Ventures, is his consignor.
The Salt Lake filly, named Lovely Lagoon, is out of the 9-year-old winning Tejano mare Tejano's Love and is from the family of grade II winner Time to Explode. Asmussen Horse Center, agent, is her consignor.
The Gibson County filly, named Clever Up, is out of the 12-year-old winning Clever Trick mare Clever Jocey and is consigned by McKathan Farms, agent. Clever Up's third dam is champion Just a Game.
It was unseasonably chilly, but sunny, for the under tack show, which had been postponed from Sunday after heavy rains on Saturday. There were more showers on Sunday, but the track was drying out.
A Wild Wonder
colt was the fastest worker at a quarter mile with a clocking of :22. He is the second foal out of the 9-year-old unraced Brown Arc mare Sara Chatterbox, who is a half-sister to grade III winner Draw Shot (by Cormorant).
