Highest-priced colt named The Green Monkey.
The $16-million record-priced Forestry   colt that was bought by Demi O'Byrne for Coolmore Stud, Derrick Smith, and Michael Tabor at the Fasig-Tipton Calder 2-year-old sale has been named The Green Monkey.

Smith, Tabor, and Coolmore managing partner John Magnier named the Storm Cat grandson after The Green Monkey golf course at the Sandy Lane hotel in Barbados. The three men are part owners of the hotel. The golf course is named after the Bajan green monkeys that were brought from Gambia and Senegal in West Africa about 350 years ago and features a sand trap with a grass island carved in the shape of a monkey. The year 2004, the colt's foaling year, also was known as the year of the Green Monkey on the Chinese calendar.

The Green Monkey, who is out of the Unbridled mare Magical Masquerade, will be trained by Todd Pletcher.
