Jockey Chad Murphy Earns 2,000th Victory

Chad Murphy earned his 2,000th career riding win Friday night when he drove Gun to victory in the fourth race at Mountaineer Park.Murphy, 41, a native of Wilson, N.C., has been riding professionally since 1986. His first win was at Gulfstream Park. His mounts have earned $21.7 million.Murphy rode both Tempus Fugit and Discreet Hero to stakes wins at Mountaineer last year.
