Jockey Chad Murphy Earns 2,000th Victory

Chad Murphy earned his 2,000th career riding win Friday night when he drove Gun to victory in the fourth race at Mountaineer Park.
Murphy, 41, a native of Wilson, N.C., has been riding professionally since 1986. His first win was at Gulfstream Park. His mounts have earned $21.7 million.
Murphy rode both Tempus Fugit and Discreet Hero to stakes wins at Mountaineer last year.
