Forestry colt turns in fastest eighth at FT show.
A Forestry colt was among the top performers Sunday during the first under tack show for the Fasig-Tipton Florida select sale of 2-year-olds in training. He was the fastest worker at an eighth of a mile, covering the distance in :9 4/5 at Calder Race Course.

Consigned by Hartley/DeRenzo Thoroughbreds, the bay colt is the second foal out of the 8-year-old winning Unbridled mare Magical Masquerade, who is a half-sister to grade II winner Magicalmysterycat (by Storm Cat). The colt's second dam is grade II winner Nannerl (by Valid Appeal). Hartley/DeRenzo Thoroughbreds purchased the colt for $425,000 at the 2005 Fasig-Tipton Kentucky July select yearling auction.

An El Corredor   colt and a Songandaprayer   filly were the quickest at a quarter mile, each with a clocking of :21 1/5. Consigned by Hoby and Layna Kight, agents, the El Corredor colt is the second foal out of the 9-year-old stakes-winning Birdonthewire mare Sami's Proud Squaw. The Songandaprayer filly, consigned by Murray Smith, agent, is out of the 19-year-old stakes-winning Proud Birdie mare Sweet Proud Polly, who has produced several winners.

Hoby Kight bought the bay El Corredor colt for $90,000 at the 2005 Ocala Breeders' Sales Co.'s August yearling sale. Smith purchased the bay Songandaprayer filly as yearling for $100,000 last year at the Fasig-Tipton Kentucky July auction.

The second and final under tack show for the Fasig-Tipton Florida sale is scheduled for Feb. 26 at Calder, beginning at 10 a.m. (EDT). The auction itself will be held Feb. 28, starting at 11 a.m.
