Memorial Set for Fustok; Buckram Oak Horses to Run

A memorial service is to be held Feb. 25 for Mahmoud M. Fustok, owner of Buckram Oak Farm, in Fort Lauderdale, his family announced.

Fustok, 70, was killed due to head injuries he suffered Feb. 8 when he was hit by an uncontrolled vehicle while jogging. He was buried in his native Saudi Arabia.

The service will be held at Plaza East Condominiums, 4300 N. Ocean Blvd., in Fort Lauderdale, from 5 to 8 p.m. ET. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Thoroughbred Retirement Foundation, P.O. Box 3387, Saratoga Springs, NY, 12866.

Meanwhile, Buckram Oak Farm's TVG Breeders' Cup Sprint (gr. I) winner Silver Train worked a sharp six furlongs in 1:11 3/5 Saturday morning at Palm Meadows as he prepares for his anticipated 2006 debut in the $200,000 Richter Scale Breeders' Cup (gr. II) on March 4.

Silver Train and the rest of the Buckram Oak runners with several different trainers have been cleared to run by Fustok's brother Ahmed, according to farm manager Mohammed Moubarak.
