A memorial service is to be held Feb. 25 for Mahmoud M. Fustok, owner of Buckram Oak Farm, in Fort Lauderdale, his family has announced.
Fustok, 70, died as the result of head injuries he suffered Feb. 8 when he was hit by an uncontrolled vehicle while jogging. He was buried in his native Saudi Arabia.
The service will be held at Plaza East Condominiums, 4300 N. Ocean Blvd., in Fort Lauderdale, from 5 to 8 p.m. ET. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Thoroughbred Retirement Foundation, P.O. Box 3387, Saratoga Springs, NY, 12866.
Meanwhile, Buckram Oak Farm's TVG Breeders' Cup Sprint (gr. I) winner Silver Train and the rest of the Buckram Oak runners with several different trainers have been cleared to run by Fustok's brother Ahmed, according to farm manager Mohammed Moubarak.
