Our Emblem, sire of Kentucky Derby (gr. I) winner War Emblem, has been sold to Goncalo and Regina Borges Torrealba's TNT Stud in Centro-Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. He previously stood at Taylor Made Farm near Nicholasville, Ky., and has shuttled to TNT Stud since 2004. The 15-year-old son of Mr. Prospector will remain in Brazil, according to Taylor Made Farm.
Out of champion Personal Ensign, Our Emblem is the sire of seven stakes winners. In 2002, War Emblem won the Preakness Stakes (gr. I), the Haskell Invitational (gr. I), and the Illinois Derby (gr. II), in addition to the Kentucky Derby. The same spring Private Emblem won the Arkansas Derby (gr. II). It was this success that brought Our Emblem to Taylor Made Farm.
Our Emblem originally entered stud at Claiborne Farm in 1997. After standing there for five seasons, he was sold to the Murray family's Murmur Farm near Darlington, Md. He stood there in 2002 for a fee of $4,000, which was upped to $7,500 because of the success of War Emblem and Private Emblem that spring. In the summer of 2002, Our Emblem was sold again and became a Taylor Made/WinStar Venture. His 2005 fee was $10,000, and he was scheduled to stand this season for $7,500 before being sold.
