Crestwood's Castledale to Shuttle to New Zealand

Grade I winner Castledale, who is gearing up for his first season at Pope McLean's Crestwood Farm near Lexington, will shuttle to Wayne and Alison Larsen's Te Runga Stud near Auckland in New Zealand.
A 5-year-old son of Peintre Celebre out of the Silver Hawk mare Louju, Castledale was a grade I winner in both the Santa Anita Derby and Shoemaker Breeders' Cup Mile Stakes and stakes-placed in Ireland.
Castledale, will stand at Crestwood for $6,000. "He's a neat horse, not really big, but flashy," said Pope McLean Jr. "He's been well received, and he'll be bred to 70 to 80 mares here."
