Edited ReRun Press ReleaseReRun Inc. is putting more of its trademarked Moneigh horse paintings up for bid on E-Bay this week due to the overwhelming response by racing fans to its recent holiday auction. The current auction ends Feb. 5. Among the 11 equine artists available are Ten Most Wanted, Film Maker, Kingmambo, Rahy, Yes its True, and Western Hemisphere. Other paintings by regional stallions are also being auctioned, as well as one by Butterscotch, the popular lead pony who accompanied Smarty Jones at the racetrack. The last Smarty Jones Moneigh raised $3,250 on E-Bay for ReRun's Thoroughbred adoption program and others like Silver Charm and Funny Cide commanded prices over $1000 according to Sue Swart, ReRun's executive director. Since then, Swart added, "we've received requests from race fans around the country for Moneighs that may be more affordable. In this auction, there is hopefully something for everybody, including a perfect Valentine's present for that special racing fan." Horses create Moneighs using their noses, lips, and tails. A hoof print, lock of mane, and brass nameplate complete the paintings, which are trademarked by ReRun. ReRun is a registered nonprofit 501c3 organization.
Three Chimneys' stallion fees will remain the same or decrease in 2008, the farm announced Oct. 12. Also, the farm will contractually limit the stallion books to 110 mares, as has been its informal custom.
