Champion Speightstown's First Foal Is a Colt

The first foal by champion sprinter Speightstown   is a colt born Jan. 28 at Windfields Farm near Oshawa, Ontario, Canada. Owned by Eugene Melnyk's Melnyk Racing Stables, the colt is out of the stakes-placed Hennessy mare Chase Gap.

Winner of the 2004 Breeders' Cup Sprint (gr. I) his championship season, Speightstown (Gone West--Silken Cat, by Storm Cat) stands in 2006 for $40,000 at Bill Casner and Kenny Troutt's WinStar Farm near Versailles, Ky.
