Behrens, Lemon Drop Kid in Suburban

Handicap division heavyweights Behrens and Lemon Drop Kid will renew their rivalry in Tuesday's $500,000 Suburban Handicap (gr. II) at Belmont Park. The 1 1/4-mile race drew a field of six, including Almutawakel and Lager.
"It's going to be a good horse race," said Scotty Schulhofer, Lemon Drop Kid's trainer. "He's coming up gorgeous and I wouldn't trade places with anyone." Lemon Drop Kid, the 122 pound co-highweight, drew post position two and will be ridden by his Edgar Prado.
The James Jerkens-trained Lager worked three furlongs over Belmont Park's training track Sunday, covering the distance in :36 3/5. The former claiming horse finished a distant second to Lemon Drop Kid in the Brooklyn Handicap (gr. II) in his last start.
