The Tattersalls Ireland September yearling sale will be held a week earlier than previously was announced. The three-day auction will now take place Sept. 5-7 rather than Sept. 12-14.
"Our original dates clashed with yearling sales in North America and, when the earlier week became available, we felt that it would benefit both vendors and purchasers to take advantage of a week that does not coincide with any other Northern Hemisphere yearling sales," said Tattersalls Ireland chairman Edmond Mahony. "In addition, the redevelopment of Doncaster Racecourse has seen the bulk of the St Leger meeting relocated to York on Sept. 8 and 9, which means that the September yearling sale will also avoid coinciding with any major race meetings.
"It looks likely that we will revert to our usual week in 2007, but for this year it makes perfect sense to stage the September yearling sale in a week that is free of any other distractions."
