Field, Folklore Take Most of Oaks Future Action

The field stood as the slight 7-2 favorite Thursday as the opening day of wagering on the first 2006 Kentucky Oaks Future Wager drew to a close.

As of 9:40 p.m. ET, the betting category that includes all 3-year-old fillies other than the 23 individual interests was a slight choice over 2005 juvenile filly champion Folklore, bet to 4-1.

Betting was light. Just $1,923 had been wagered at press time.

Wild Fit was the third choice at odds of 9-1, while Wait A While (14-1), Adieu and Sabatini (both 15-1) and Balance (16-1) also drew some support.

Bettors receive the final odds when the wagering closes Jan. 29 at 6 p.m. ET.
