Hot Storm hopes to blow through Florida with same force as last year in California side of Sunshine Millions set.
Florida-bred Hot Storm aims to become only the second horse to win a second Sunshine Millions race in the $300,000 Filly/Mare Sprint at six furlongs Saturday at Santa Anita.
But unlike Valentine Dancer, who has won the Sunshine Millions Filly and Mare Turf twice, Hot Storm was victorious previously in another stake, last year's SM Oaks.
Hot Storm will carry a four-race winning streak into Saturday's bid. Her competition includes grade I winners Alphabet Kisses and Leave Me Alone. The latter won Saratoga's Test Stakes (gr. I) by 7 ¾ lengths last summer.
Ten of the entrants Saturday are California-bred fillies or mares.
