Aqueduct's leading jockey Eibar Coa rode five winners at the New York racetrack Wednesday.
Coa, who will turn 35 on Feb. 5, entered the day with a 35-34 lead over Mike Luzzi in the Aqueduct jockey standings. Luzzi was shut out Wednesday, while Coa won the second (Thunder's Comin, $4.10), the third (Saint Jules, $3.90), the sixth (Lightning Stripes, $17), the seventh (Toy Thief, $4.50), and the ninth (Gold Gunner, $4.20).
It was the biggest riding feat in New York since Sept. 22, 2005, when Hall of Fame jockey Jerry Bailey rode his sixth consecutive winner over a three-day period.
