From press releases

Beulah Park set an all-time one-day handle record, while Turfway Park has increased purses because of business gains.

At Beulah Park, located in Grove City, Ohio, total handle on the live product Jan. 18 was $3,216,364, more than $600,000 higher than the previous record set in February 2004. Also on Jan. 18, the track's new "Fortune 6" wager--a 25-cent minimum pick six--paid $50,000 to one bettor with a perfect ticket.

At Turfway, association-paid purses were increased 5% effective Jan. 19. Total handle on the live product at the Northern Kentucky track was up considerably in December, and that trend has continued into 2006.
