Motivator Named BHB Horse of the Year

The British Horseracing Board held its Flat Awards ceremony Tuesday, eligible to horses who are trained or raced at some stage in Britain during 2005. Motivator was named Horse Of The Year by the BHB.

While winning the Epsom Derby (Eng-I), Motivator carried the colors of the Royal Ascot Racing Club, whose racing manager Harry Herbert collected the award on behalf of the 230 members.

"This is a dream for everybody and it has proven at last the Derby can be won and celebrated by a greater many more people than just two or three at the very top of the racing tree," Herbert said. "This gives hope to us all."
