Apprentice jockey Julien Leparoux, the leading rider at Turfway Park, dominated Sunday's races with five wins among his seven mounts on the nine-race card.
He leads the Turfway riding standings with 20 wins from 72 mounts in the winter/spring meet that began Jan. 1. Jason Lumpkins is second with 11 wins from 67 mounts.
Leparoux won the third race by closing on the inside with 13-1 Everybodywantssom. The French native followed that with a pacesetting win on the 4-5 favorite, Thelightsareon, in the fourth. He won the sixth race by coming off the pace with Coin Maker, second choice at 3-1, and the eighth race with the 8-5 favorite, Safe Play, in another front-running effort. Leparoux capped the afternoon by winning the ninth race, closing on the outside from far back with 2-1 favorite Perfectstormtoo.
Leparoux first rode at Turfway in the just-completed 2005 holiday meet, where he finished fourth with 21 wins from 105 mounts, including one four-win day.
