Texcess, Storm Wolf Among Supplements to Barretts Sale

Texcess, winner of the Boyd Gaming Delta Jackpot Stakes, has been added to the Barretts winter mixed sale.

Grade II winner Storm Wolf, 2004 California-bred champion 2-year-old Texcess, and grade II-placed Papa to Kinzie are among 35 horses, including 19 horses of racing age, supplemented to the Barrett Equine 2006 January Winter Mixed Sale.

There are now 620 horses cataloged for the sale, which will be held on Monday, Jan. 23 and Tuesday, Jan. 24 in the Hinds Pavilion in Pomona, California beginning each day at 10:30 a.m.

Storm Wolf, a 4-year-old son of Stormin Fever  , won the Lazaro Barrera Memorial Stakes (gr. II) among his three victories in four starts last year. The Kentucky-bred colt is consigned by River Edge Farm, as agent.

Texcess, a 4-year-old gelded son of In Excess, has earned $805,365, with his victories including the Boyd Gaming Delta Jackpot Stakes at Delta Downs and the California Cup Juvenile, both in 2004. Last year, he finished third in the San Rafael (gr. II) and second in the San Mateo Mile. He is consigned by NexStar Ranch, agent.

A 5-year-old mare by Boston Harbor who ran third in the 2003 Santa Ynez Stakes (gr. II), Papa to Kinzie is consigned by Havens Bloodstock, as agent.

There are 239 broodmares, 103 newly turned 2-year-olds and 161 newly turned yearling consigned to the sale.
