Windrush remained undefeated for the year, winning his third straight race Saturday with a half-length victory in the $109,800 Stymie Handicap (gr. III) at Aqueduct. Ridden by Joe Bravo, Windrush wore down front-running Turnofthecentury in the final furlong of the race for horses 3 years old and up.

Betting favorite Turnofthecentury was second in the field of eight, finishing 3 3/4 lengths ahead of Boston Party. K. O.'s Crypto came home fourth, followed by Tibado, Banner Headline, Talk's Cheap, and Le Beaucet.

Windrush (Seeking the Gold--Tempest Dancer, by Storm Cat), carrying 114 pounds, covered the 1 1/8 miles in 1:48.43 on a fast track. It was the fifth win in 12 career starts for the 4-year-old colt, who is trained by John Kimmel. The winner earned $71,880 for owner-breeder Gainesway Stable and returned $10.60, $5 and $3.20. Turnofthecentury paid $3.90 and $2.60 and Boston Party was worth $2.60 to show. The winning exacta combination returned $39.80. (Chart, Equibase)
