Edited press releaseHorseRacing TV has entered into a comprehensive agreement with Coast Hotels and Casinos for exclusive broadcast coverage and promotion of the Horse Player World Series from the Orleans Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas Jan. 19-21.
Under the agreement, HRTV will broadcast four hours of coverage per day from the tournament, with HRTV's John "Johnny D" DeSantis serving as on-site host. HRTV will provide a tournament overview and analysis, as well as key race analysis and hourly tournament reports. Also included during the three-day handicapping tournament will be interviews with key participants.
The Horse Player World Series is one of the most prominent handicapping tournaments in the country with a total prize pool expected to exceed the 2005 prize pool of $768,000. Qualifiers vying for the top prize come from local tournaments held at racetracks, casinos, and off-track betting and on-line wagering sites.
The HRTV commitment includes on-air promotional considerations through Jan. 21 that detail the Horse Player World Series and solicit entries for the event. XpressBet, a national account wagering system affiliated with HRTV, held a handicapping contest with its existing customer base and will supply two winners with trips to the Horse Player World Series.
