(from Santa Anita notes)Alberto VO5 Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies (gr. I) champion Folklore is ready to make her 3-year-old debut at Santa Anita Park in the Santa Ynez Stakes (gr. II) at seven furlongs on Jan. 16, Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
"She's done well since she's been here," said trainer D. Wayne Lukas. "She's actually done well since the Breeders' Cup. I thought she was getting good late fall; I thought she was very good in the Breeders' Cup, but I think she's still moving forward."
Foklore, the likely Eclipse Award Winner in her division for 2005, won four of seven with three seconds and earnings of $927,500 for owners Robert and Beverly Lewis. She closed her juvenile campaign with a 14-length win in the Matron (gr. I) Sept. 17 and a 1 1/4-length triumph in the BC Juvenile Fillies Oct. 29, both at Belmont Park.
