Ashado, who sold for a world-record $9 million at the 2005 Keeneland November breeding stock sale, is booked to Storm Cat, the world's most expensive stallion. Ashado was bought by John Ferguson Bloodstock, agent for Sheikh Mohammed, from Taylor Made Sales Agency, agent. She resides at Sheikh Mohammed's Darley at Jonabell near Lexington.

Bred by Aaron and Marie Jones, Ashado (Saint Ballado--Goulash, by Mari's Book) raced for Jack and Laurie Wolf's Starlight Stables, Johns Martin, and Paul Saylor and earned $3,931,440. She was 2004 champion 3-year-old filly after winning the Breeders' Cup Distaff Presented by Nextel (gr. I) and finished third in this year's Distaff, sponsored by Emirates Airline, shortly before her sale.

Storm Cat, who stands at the Young family's Overbrook Farm near Lexington, has sired 143 stakes winners. Since Storm Cat is a grandson of Northern Dancer and Mari's Book is a son of Northern Dancer, the resultant foal will be inbred 3x4 to that great stallion.
