Edited Gulfstream Park report
Hall of Fame trainer Allen Jerkens was somewhat disappointed with a particularly fast 1:25 4/5 seven-furlong workout by Huntington Stakes winner Saint Daimon before his 3-year-old debut in Saturday's $125,000 Aventura Stakes, but with six decades of training under his belt, he easily found a way to look on the bright side.

"[Fellow Hall of Famer] Eddie Neloy always said horses win despite us, not on account of us," said Jerkens. "It was a little faster than I wanted, and we'll have to see how he comes out of it. It's either going to knock him out, or it will benefit him. We'll find out at the end [on Saturday]."

Saint Daimon won two of four starts as a 2-year-old for Hobeau Farm including the Huntington Stakes last out on Nov. 13 at Aqueduct.
