Based on the success of its holiday auction, ReRun Inc. announced Tuesday that it has listed another group of the distinctive Moneigh paintings created by racehorses on the eBay auction Web site. Among the 14 horses who are represented by their artwork in the latest auction, which ends Jan. 9, are paintings are Skip Away, Holy Bull, Gulch, Tiznow , Gone West, Point Given , Albert the Great , Came Home, and Pleasantly Perfect . Also included in the auction is the last Moneigh for Silver Charm, who no longer be available to paint for the organization after relocating to Japan. A Moneigh by In Excess and signed by his jockey, Kent Desormeaux is also available in the online auction."We had such an overwhelming response to our Christmas eBay auction that we are making other Moneighs available now to raise funds to place more thoroughbreds into good adoptive homes," said Sue Swart, ReRun's executive director. She noted that a Moneigh by 2004 Kentucky Derby (gr. I) and Preakness (gr. I) winner Smarty Jones raised over $3,000.According to ReRun, the non-profit Thoroughbred adoption group, each Moneigh is unique in style and color by the equine artists, who create the paintings by using their noses, lips and tails. A hoof print, lock of mane and brass name plate complete the paintings which are trademarked by ReRun.
