Edited Fair Grounds report
Racing resumed Thursday at the Fair Grounds meet at Harrah's Louisiana Downs, and that meant business as usual for the Cole Norman stable – sort of.

Norman was headed home from LSU-Shreveport Medical Center Thursday, three days after breaking his neck in a four-wheeler accident at his new home in Haughton, La.

Assistant trainers and brothers Jorge and Oscar Lara will maintain the operation in Norman's absence, which included saddling three horses on Thursday. Fourth Floor captured the final race of the day, while Hero's Glow and Elliecat each finished second.

Jorge Lara, who was in the passenger seat of the four-wheeler, was on crutches Thursday with a sprained ankle and a large cut on his leg.

"We were up and down on those hills and he turned around and it flipped over," Jorge Lara said. "The four-wheeler landed on my leg."

The Lara brothers know their job in Norman's absence.

"Keep it going, keep winning," Jorge Lara said. "Believe me, (Norman's) still there."
