Keith Chamblin, formerly the National Thoroughbred Racing Association's senior vice president for marketing and industry relations, has assumed the new position of senior vice president in charge of communications, the NTRA announced Dec. 21.

In his new role, Chamblin will be responsible for the NTRA's full range of communication efforts, including public relations and publicity programs, and will oversee the organization's marketing programs along with members of the NTRA's television, sponsorship and product development teams.

"This change in title reflects the vital importance we are placing on external communications with our various constituents, including breeders, owners, horsemen, racetrack executives and racing fans," said D.G. Van Clief Jr., commissioner of the NTRA.

Chamblin joined the NTRA in 1999 after serving as vice president of marketing at Hollywood Park.
