In the print edition of The Blood-Horse
dated March 10, a story on Ashford Stud first-year stallion High Yield made reference to an unsubstantiated rumor that the stallion was failing to mount his mares. While the article stated that High Yield had no fewer than six mares in foal at the time the story was written and included a comment from an Ashford official saying there was no validity to the rumor, The Blood-Horse
regrets publication of the article.
High Yield (Storm Cat -- Scoop the Gold, by Forty Niner) now has 13 mares in foal, according to a statement from the farm. The mares bred to the multiple grade I winner include Bob and Beverly Lewis' Moonsong; River Bend Farm's Foresta, Corner Woods partnership's Slamya; Gulf Coast Farms' Angel Alydar; Donald Zuckerman's Making Up; Sugar Maple Farm's Gray Crusader; Paul Finke's Dawn Launch; Bob and Beverly Lewis' Positive Gal; Ailshie and Shields' Stalcreek; McGreen LLC 's Touchy Feely; Payson Stud's Aura of Glory; Mr. and Mrs. I. Weiner's Triple Premiere; and Vinery and partners' Pushing Fifty.
